Biography:

Anton has obtained his Medical Degree at the Erasmus University in Rotterdam in the Netherlands. Aspiring to combine clinical practice with fundamental research, he undertook the MSc. in Molecular Medicine at the same university. His research focus is to establish new biomarkers for guiding prostate cancer treatment and uncovering how indolent disease transforms into aggressive prostate cancer. To obtain his MSc, he performed 12 months of research in the Experimental Urology group of Prof. Guido Jenster in Rotterdam and 6 months in Brisbane, Australia in the Medical Genomics department under supervision of Prof. John Mattick and A/Prof. Marcel Dinger. He is now focussing on identifying genomic markers and drivers of aggressive disease as part of his PhD. in the Human Comparative and Prostate Cancer genomics group of Prof. Vanessa Hayes at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research in Sydney, Australia.
