Biography:
I am a medical oncologist, senior lecturer and a translational and clinical researcher. Following oncology training in New Zealand and Melbourne, I completed a basic science doctoral degree studying urothelial cancer. I spent two years working in London with leading researcher Prof Johann de Bono in the Prostate Cancer Targeted Therapy Group at The Institute of Cancer Research / Royal Marsden. Research achievements include securing competitive grant funding and authoring more than 45 manuscripts and book chapters. I returned to Melbourne in August 2013 to take up a position at Monash University, where I participate actively in laboratory and clinical urogenital research programs. I joined the Monash Cancer Research Program with Prof Risbridger in 2014, initially as the EJ Whitten Research Fellow and more recently with grant funding from the Victorian Cancer Agency. My community engagement includes a role as deputy chair of the Australian and New Zealand Urogenital and Prostate (ANZUP) cancer trials group prostate cancer subcommittee. I have participated on the organising committee for the 2014-2016 ANZUP Annual Scientific Meetings and co-convened the ANZUP ASM multidisciplinary masterclass day in 2015.
