Biography:

Ms Suurbach completed her M.Sc. in Germany and is now PhD student at the University of Technology, Sydney, Translational Cancer Research Group and recipient of an International Postgraduate Research Award as well as UTS President Award. Her work focus is on utilizing bone marrow derived mesenchymal stem cells as cellular vehicles to delivery therapeutic genes to advanced prostate cancer. Mouse models have been established to quantitate the efficacy of therapeutics and animal survival post cell implantation expressing therapeutics has been monitored. Her interests lie in stem cell harvest, stem cell behavior in vitro and in vivo and their potential as delivery vehicles for therapeutics.
