Biography:
Dr Selth heads a group within the Dame Roma Mitchell Cancer Research Laboratories in Adelaide. His research focuses on two aspects of prostate cancer development and progression. The first involves research into the role of microRNAs in prostate carcinogenesis and metastasis and their use as potential biomarkers of disease. The second is aimed at investigating the mechanisms underlying aberrant signalling by the androgen receptor in lethal forms of prostate cancer.
These research programs utilise contemporary genomic techniques to better understand prostate cancer at the molecular level. Dr Selth is a Young Investigator of the US Prostate Cancer Foundation and has further funding from the NHMRC, US Department of Defense and Cancer Australia.
