Biography:
Mani R. Moniri earned his BSc and MSc from the University of British Columbia (UBC) and his MSc thesis was focused on the development of novel strategies for the treatment of pancreatic cancer using engineered mesenchymal stem cells. He is now completing his PhD in Experimental Medicine program at UBC. His current project involves the discovery and application of novel therapeutics for the treatment of castration resistant and metastatic prostate cancer. He has been the recipient of numerous awards including two prestigious Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) Charles Best and Frederick Banting scholarships. He aspires to complete his MD degree after his PhD studies and focus on clinical oncology and research.
