Biography:

Rae-Anne is Canadian but has been living, studying, and now working in Sydney since 2008. She recently completed her Ph.D. at the Garvan Institute under the International Postgraduate Research Scholarship and Beth Yarrow Memorial Scholarship, with her thesis entitled “Mitochondrial Genetic Variation in the Evolution of Humans and Metabolism of Cancer”.  Rae-Anne was awarded the Lorne Cancer Conference Student Poster Presentation Award, several international travel bursaries, and was selected as a speaker at the Lowy Cancer Symposium. She was a SIEF-AAS Fellow attending the Nobel Laureate Meeting in Lindau, Germany in 2014. Rae-Anne is now researching the role of nutrient transporters and metabolic adaptations to androgen therapy in prostate cancer under the guidance of Jeff Holst at the Centenary Institute in Sydney.
