Biography:
Dr Inoue is a urologic surgeon in Japan and doing prostate cancer research in Canada. He is interested in the development mechanism of androgen independent prostate cancer. His research focuses on the contribution of insulin and IGF-1 signaling on this mechanism. It has been reported that increased serum insulin level was associated with increased risk of prostate cancer diagnosis and recurrence. He is using the castrated mice xenograft model with androgen dependent cell line such as LNCaP. He is trying to use insulin or IGF-1 tyrosine kinase inhibitor or high fat/high carbohydrate diet in order to modify the insulin and IGF-1 signaling; and investigate the effect of modification on tumor growth or development of androgn independence from both viewpoint of host effect and tumor effect. Dr Inoue would like to develop these basic science reserches to clinical research.
Current areas of collaboration: development mechanisms of androgen independent prostate cancer.
androgen independence, cancer progression.
