Biography:

Amanda Wang is a fourth year Honours Biochemistry student at the University of British Columbia (UBC) in Canada. She has previously studied the effects of nutrient deprivation on autophagy induction and protein production in the laboratory of Dr. James Piret at UBC.  Her current research at the APCRC-Q involves characterising the role of insulin in prostate cancer progression, with a focus on molecular mechanisms relevant to cell proliferation and resistance to apoptosis.
