OzMRS is an exciting initiative that brings together Australian metastasis researchers and was instigated following the 2012 International Biennial Congress of the Metastasis Research Society in Brisbane. OzMRS is linked to the International Metastasis Research Society (http://metastasis-research.org/) and is an interest group of COSA.
In this symposium, co-sponsored by the CRC for Cancer Therapeutics (CTx), we will cover both the clinical and more basic aspects of metastatic disease across a range of cancer types. The aim is to bring together clinicians who treat patients with advanced cancer and researchers who are engaged in improving our understanding of mechanisms of metastasis and in the development of new therapies to treat metastatic disease. The program will include one or two of the international speakers invited to COSA and a number of local speakers. We plan to have a series of short talks clustered around a theme, with a general discussion following these presentations. Talks will be selected from abstracts.
