Festschrift: in honour of Professor Pamela Russell, Friday, 18 March 2011.

Professor Russell is a researcher, a mentor and educator and friend of the cancer community. We hope that you will join the festschrift to celebrate her significant discoveries from a life dedicated to science.

Professor Russell is a distinguished scientist who had made an extraordinary contribution to Australian research. We welcome the medical, scientific, industry and lay community to a celebration and exhibition of research and perspectives arising from and related to her work for more than 35 years. Pam’s laboratory was a world leader with an international research reputation into genitourinary cancers.

 

 

She has received many prizes and accolades for her achievements, particularly for advances in prostate cancer.

 

Scientific Program

 

Professor Russell will be joined by other eminent scientists from Australia and overseas for an exciting program showcasing discoveries from the past, to their benefits realisation in the present. International speakers are Professors Derek Raghavan and Skip Heston from the Cleveland Clinic. These leading experts in genitourinary cancers will address scientific advances in bladder and prostate cancers. The program will cover topics where Professor Russell’s work has made an important contribution such as immunology, bladder and prostate cancer, gene therapies and her impact on the wider oncology community.

The celebration of Professor Russell's lifetime of dedication to science commences on the 18th March, with a riveting and exciting Scientific Program showcasing eminent scientists from both Australia and overseas.  This event is being held from 8.30am at the Royal Hospital for Women at Randwick.
